Vic has a long mercantile tradition (in the leather and sausage industry). The market has been held twice a week for centuries in the Plaza Mayor and it is a wonderful place to visit. The Plaza Mayor square is bordered by coffee shops and represents an extension of the historical district of the city. The modernista style is characteristic for the city; the most representative building for this style is Casa Comella. This is a Neo-Gothic fantasy that dominates the south western corner of the square. Take a walk on the narrow streets and you will find the 2nd century Roman Temple, now a restaurant, situated right next to the ruins of the Palau dels Montcada. Other sightseeing places in Vic are the Cathedral, an elegant combination of Roman and Neo-classic styles. The cathedral has an unusual Gothic garden, a very special altar and crypt. Tourists love these places in Vic, and this is why the city is gaining more and more visitors every year. The Museu Episcopal de Vic hosts one of the most representative collections of Catalan medieval art in Spain. The landscapes are also very beautiful and many tourists like to visit the surroundings of the city. You can be one of them if you decide to visit these special corners of Spain.
